IQbal College

Situated at Peringammala in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram district, Iqbal College is the first college owned by the Muslim community in the district. The establishment of this College in 1964 was an initiative of the Iqbal College Trust to alleviate the sad plight of the students in this highly backward region. Named after the great patriot, philosopher and educationist Sir Dr.Allama Mohammed Iqbal, the College was set up with the noble purpose of addressing and redressing the backwardness of the society in general and the Muslim community in particular.

IQBAL COLLEGE is an excellent higher education institution founded in 1964, as a junior college with the affiliation of the University of Kerala. It won acclaim as the first college owned by the Muslim community in Thiruvananthapuram District and the pioneer one in Nedumangad. Taluk. Then it was elevated to the status of a first grade college and approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The College offers UG and PG courses. Admission is open to all candidates without any caste and creed discriminations. Hence the college benefits the society at large, especially SC, ST, OBC and other marginalized communities.
The campus spreads on a 30 acre hillock, on a lovely and picturesque greenbelt, on the slopes of the Western Ghats, at the backdrop of the Ponmudi Hills, which provides a serene and tranquil atmosphere for teaching and learning.

The curricular and co-curricular activities which are implemented can identify the hidden talents in every student and nurture them to genius. So it can produce best results every year. It has a good record of prominent products who have proven their capabilities in various walks of life.
